St Seagull of Mykonos
Once vital to the island’s economy, these Mykonos windmills harnessed the power of the Aegean winds to grind grain, sustaining communities for centuries. Now, with their original purpose rendered obsolete, they stand as picturesque relics, popular backdrops for countless Instagram posts. There's a poignancy to this change: when something outlives its usefulness, it can be hard to accept its diminished role, a symbol of the past in a world obsessed with the present.
Yet, this transformation holds its own kind of beauty. The windmills have found a new purpose, sparking wonder and inspiration for people who come to marvel, photograph, and even reinvent them in unexpected ways. Each artwork is produced as a fine art giclée print on luxurious 308 gsm archival Hahnemuhle Photorag paper, chosen for its velvety texture and exceptional detail reproduction. Every print is finished with a uniform 2 cm border that frames the image and allows the artwork to breathe.
The edition number is handwritten in the lower left corner, and each piece is personally signed and embossed by Helga in the lower right. This careful detailing ensures that every print is not just a reproduction, but a crafted object in its own right.
All artworks are shipped unframed and are carefully rolled and packaged in sturdy protective tubes to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. We use Royal Mail for deliveries within the UK and DHL for international orders, allowing you to track your artwork every step of the way.
